 Scuba diving in Koh Samui, opinions?

I am planning to visit Thailand very soon as my new work location (yeah, I live the expat life lol), so I want to visit Koh Samui because the nature is stunning and looks like a cool place to be. however... what is your take in scuba diving?

I was thinking on taking a tour from this company first (boutiqueyachting.com/), so I can get a proper overview and then do it on my own. I’ve never been to this place before, so I would be wonderful to know if it is a good place for scuba diving.

HI,
I haven’t dove off of Koh Samui, but have dove in the gulf a few times. The diving is okay in the gulf but not great. If you want better diving do it on the Andaman Sea side. Not sure what kind of diving our used to so it’s all relative. I’m sure you’ll enjoy diving there, the water is warm and stuff to see.
Thailand is a blast! People are super friendly, food is great, and beautiful places to see. I just got back 3 days ago and miss it already. Make sure you travel around and see different parts of Thailand while you’re there.
