From searly28:
Vortex has a small cavern. Lots of junk on the bottom ie; hoses or whatever. Has a contraption that is supposed to be shipwreck training or something. Cost was $20 last time I was there. Can be quite crowded. They do have air and gear rentals there. Morrison Springs, just south about a dozen miles is the better choice. County park, no fees, nice picnic pavilion and shower/head facilities. No check in, no gear rentals or air. Nice caverns, and much larger area for swimming and diving. Can lose visibility if there is a lot of rain, since it’s basically in a swamp. Has a nice boardwalk out to a swim/dive platform, or you can go from the beach at the base of the pavilion. You can easily dive both in one morning or afternoon. I dove Vortex once, never been back, but find myself at Morrison Springs fairly often.Just my 2 cents worth. :)

Thank you a lot !

I second searly28. I use Vortex as a backup location to dive and to fill tanks if I have to, if Morrison is washed out or the beach sucks I can go there as a bailout. Call (850) 951-7010 or (850) 892-8108 to check Morrison water clarity before you go.
