Interested in diving any of the springs the weekend of July 9/10th. Spring hopping perhaps? Would be coming up from South Florida. Happy to carpool. Have my AOW and Nitrox.

I was planning on going to Ginnie Springs on the 11th of July but let me see if I can move my schedule around and maybe do Blue Grotto or Paradise Springs.
Ginnie Springs is a no-go during the Summer months due to large crowds of non-divers during the weekends.

I’ll let you know by Thursday afternoon.

Was not aware that Ginnie was so packed on the weekends in the summer. Good to know! Might be a good idea to avoid it. I have one other diver who wants to do some diving this weekend that contacted me and we are trying to work out where to dive.

My plans for Monday have taken a dive (pun intended). Ginnie Springs is only good if you go on a weekday or extremely early before the major crowds get there. Ginnie Springs is popular with non-divers because you can camp, fish, kayak, swim, snorkel or drink heavily and act like a fool.

Does the other diver have an advanced certification? If so, I would highly recommend Paradise Springs for it’s uniqueness and if the other diver doesn’t have an advanced cert then Blue Grotto is always a good option.

Blue Grotto can get pretty busy with trainees that will stir up the silt so it’s best to dive Blue Grotto first before the dive instructors get there with their students and Paradise is the cheaper of the two with less of a chance of having any trainees there. So let me know and we can hit both or just one if you prefer.

AshNic we are currently planning a dive at Paradise Springs for the weekend of the 23rd of July.
You’re more than welcome to join us and invite a buddy (not required) to come dive one of the most interesting locations in North Florida.

I guess I should have mentioned when I’m available...
Next week lend is my family reunion. I work this weekend but I have Friday (tomorrow) off and Monday. And I’m available the weekend of July 30-31.
Im not certified to dive caves, I am only open water certified, is there plenty to see from the surface on down?

Paradise Springs is not a good dive for open-water divers, there’s not much to see if you can’t go into the cavern zone. You might want to start out with something like Blue Grotto, Troy Springs or even Blue Springs near Orlando. I’ll let you know if we come up with any plans to go to Blue Grotto at the end of the month.
