Hammerhead Cocos Islands, Galapagos, and Baja California/Sea of Cortez are supposed to be good. Haven’t been to any of them, so can’t speak for water temperature or difficulty of the dives. I would suggest doing some wreck diving off North Carolina, water is comfortable, vis is usually good, and almost a guarantee for sand tiger sharks. I have done that dive, and it is something I’d lIke to do again.

I suggest you reconsider any shark dive uses chumming and feeding to attract sharks. These operations end up training the sharks to relate food and divers and create a harmful pattern for both sharks and divers. With some training, choosing the right location and conditions sharks and divers can coexist without the use of cages. I have personally been less than 10 feet from Pacific Black tip and White tip while in Bora Bora and while at Disney’s Epcot I experienced their tank dive with a Tiger Shark. We are not in any sharks food chain and they don’t want to attack us unless we teach them to associate humans and food. Please look into Project Aware - Shark conservation for more information.

Emerald Charters out of Jupiter/West Palm Beach, FL is a great shark diving op. Depends on the day, but they have seen Hammerhead, Tiger, Black Tip, Bull, Dusky, Silkie, Reef, etc.. Had a blast with them last year.

Thanks, RA. I appreciate your respect for the animals and participating in mindful diving practices. A natural setting is most enjoyable, respectful, and a bit more safe.

We saw them all over Ambergris Caye in Belize. Mostly black-tipped reef sharks and big, lazy nurse sharks laying in the sand. Some operators do chum (which I don’t approve of) so you’ll want to do your research ahead of time.

NC has sand tigers all summer, I’m going there in July. WPB and Jupiter Florida have Lemon Sharks in January and February. Scuba Adventures does shark trips out of WPB along with the above mentioned Emerald. Gualalupe Island in Mexico has Great Whites during the summer.
Some operators in the Galapagos will only take you if you have 100+ ocean dives because you will be making blue water accents thru hundreds of hammerheads (no lie, we considered it a bad dive if we saw less than 50) and while watching the sharks it’s easy to lose buoyancy control and the nearest chamber is days away. While at Wolf and Darwin Islands we saw hundreds of Galapagos (photo), Silky and hammerheads every day and usually a few whalesharks.

I am do not know any information about swimming with hammerhead sharks, but I know of swimming with whale sharks/gentle giants in Los Cabos, Mexico from October to January. :-) I am planning to snorkel/scuba with them, but still in the planning phase.

Hello,
I have had the opportunity to dive with many sharks, including hammerhead sharks, black fin sharks, silver-tip sharks, white fin sharks, lombatus, silk sharks and so on, for a week in French Polynesia, on the atoll of Rangiroa, which is part of the Tuamotus Archipelago. You are not in a cage and they do not feed the sharks to attract them. It is a very thrilling and exhilarating experience. You have to be an intermediate diver as you go down to the limits of sports diving to see the sharks at 30 meters (98 feet) deep. I dove with the extremely knowledgeable and amazing Yves Lefevre at Raie Manta Club. He has been studying sharks for well over 20 years and is also an animal photographer as well as a diving instructor. He founded the first diving center in the Tuamotu archipelago in 1985. His club specializes in both underwater photographers and filmmakers, offering them personalized service. Raie Manta Club worked with Jacques Cousteau and the Calypso team, Nicolas Hulot for "Ushuaia", Luc Besson for the filming of Atlantis, The BBC, Arte, Thalassa and National Geographic, to name a few.
His website is : raiemantaclub.com/rangi-uk.htm
This was, by far, my most amazing experience in my entire life... to observe sharks in their natural habitat, in a peaceful setting, a incredible and truly memorable one.
I hope you can go there because you will be transported in a different world...

Hi I dived with Thresher Shark Divers, at Malapascua Island, Cebu in the Philippines January 2016. It is one of the few places in the world where at Monad shoals you can see Pelagic Thresher sharks, also you can see black Reef tip sharks, and occasionally hammer head Sharks, all in a natural environment no cages required, and no chumming to attract sharks. and there are some wrecks to dive and lots of coral and macro life to see. Here is a link to my underwater video the quality is not great as I have only a basic under camera, but you get an idea of what you will see. you have to get up early though as the dive boat goes out at 5 am, but you will not be disappointed. I am planning to go back next january any more info I am happy to help Regards Stuart youtu.be/6uX6lbYxhMw
