Check out my dive log. (I don’t log everything.) There are numerous sites to dive in the DFW area but none worth traveling to unless you live here. Most local water is in the 40s right now. There are some spring fed sites that are in the 70s but they require an overnight trip to access them. Very few will do it this time of year. I’m one a handful of divers in DFW that will dive in the winter.

I’d say there’s one site worth traveling to and it is the Meadows Center For The Water And Environment. (It’s actually about three hours away in San Marcos, TX.) But you can’t just dive it. It has seven endangered and one threatened species. You have to take a special course to gain restricted access. I’ve traveled to far less worthy sites and seen many reports on sites that people went to lots of trouble to get to sites that weren’t as good.

Thanks Bill. I live in Maryland (were I retired after 23 years in the Navy), but I am originally from Dallas and all my family is still in the DFW area.

Would definitely be interested. I just recently got certified, and was looking for others to dive with around the area. I’ll shoot you a message with my contact info.
