I’d like some opinions on what tanks you prefer for back mount diving. Please feel free to provide comments on why you selected the answer you did.

Also, look for a similar survey for side mounting.

[Choose #2] Hp100 on back. Sling an Al80 for redundancy or more air, as needed.

[Choose #5] Double LP108s for deep trimix, double LP72s for recreational depths, double AL 80s for tropical temps in thin suit. These allow for minimal to no lead needed and provide redundancy and enough gas. Also, I here LP85s work well but I don’t own that.

[Choose #4] Dble’s really balance you out and also a redundant air source replaces need for a pony. OMS 2400psi LP steel 85’s. Filled to 3000 psi/103 cu.frt.. Bouancy is about the same empty or full.

[Choose #2] I usually dive steel 72s unless it is a shallow shore dive when I use an aluminum 30.

[Choose #1] The answer depends on the dive. Offshore I use an al80 + a pony & a Deco if it’s deep. Shore dives I use a st72

[Choose #1] I have 5 aluminum 80 tanks and one steel 72. I let one of my sons use the 72 becuase he sips air.
