Hi. I’ll be staying at Santa Rosa Lake state park and looking to dive Blue Hole on March 29th or 30th or possibly both days.

First a question.... Is solo diving permitted at Blue Hole?

If solo is not permitted or even if it is, consider this a buddy call for diving Blue Hole this next weekend.

I can be reached here or at (306) 527-3750 or mowat@accesscomm.ca

Give a shout if you are interested....

Thanks

Brad

yes diving allowed and the only restriction about solo diving is there has to be other divers in the water other than that I have been down there a few times solo just to get wet.

Thanks for the reply.

On weekends, do I just purchase the permit at the on-site dive shop?

Yeah right there on site and talk to the guy in there about the other lakes near by there are 3 within a mile or so. The Blue Hole is kinda like a deep swimming pool so it really is a quick dive so other places would make the weekend full.

It was good...

It is a great facility and a real asset for Santa Rosa. And a real bargain for a $8 permit.

I dove both Saturday and Sunday. Both days were very crowded with classes with the resulting less than stellar visibility. Even though the first 30 feet was very congested, I was pretty much alone at the bottom where the visibility opened up substantially. I only saw other divers again when I ascended through 30 feet.
All and all pleasant diving and worth the visit to Santa Rosa.
