Cozumel Spring Break Mar7-Mar 15th

So I’m ATTEMPTING a trip to Cozumel to dive for my spring break. I have from Mar. 7th- Mar. 15th to squeeze in a dive trip. I’ve done quite a bit of research, but I’ve heard mixed reviews and want to do this as cheap as possible. I would like to do about 5 of the best dives while there, or more. I’m SSI open water certified and my bf is not but may try to get certified while down there.
Questions/My situation:
- I need a dive buddy, preferably 21-27. I only have moderate experience but am more than capable at diving.
-Would flying through Cancun and taking the ferry to stay in Cozumel be a good choice?
-What places would you recommend and are there packages available to do the best spots in like one day?
-Where is the best spot to try to find a hotel?

Anyone feel free to respond. All help is much appreciated and if you’re interested in joining me then this trip will become much easier!

If you plan to stay and dive Cozumel you can fly directly to the island and save the ferry fare and time. Playa Del Carmen has some great diving also and Cancun isn’t bad either. I matters more of what you want to dive Reef & walls Coz, level reef drift diving or Cenote diving stay on the mainland. Or plan a day for Cenotes and take the ferry over early.
3 years ago I stay in Cancun. Last year I stay on Cozumel at Hotel Cozumel which is a great place for divers. All inclusive food alcohol an lodging with choices of diving packages. This year I’ll probably stay in Playa and get in a Cenote or two.

I can’t help a lot as I have only been diving in Cozumel once. I stayed on the island at Casa Del Mar and used Dive with Martin as my shop. The hotel was all inclusive with meals and drinks included. Dive With Martin was great, with small groups and the divemasters and boat helpers were excellent. As for picking the 5 best dives, wow. Almost any dive you do in Cozumel is going to be great. From a shallow experience on Paradise reef, to Palancar, to Devils Throat. They are all great. After your trip let us know how you enjoyed it and review the hotel and dive service for us if you can.

Oh, and forgot to comment that I flew in directly to the island. For me it was cheaper and less hassle than catching the ferry across.
