heading to nickerson state park from sept. 8th to oct.13 for some RVing fishing and scuba (lobsters are the intention). here is who I am in the water....certified in the early eighties and never dove. refresher course two years ago at giant stride, still no diving. it looks like i’ll be with a guy whos a master diver but has no time on the cape. i’d like some advice or suggestions on any topic and would love to get mixed up with any of you to dive with. my name is john hagerty, i’m presently at a campground in Webster mass. with the intention of camping at bayview campground in bourne next season for the summer. thank you all ahead of time for any feedback you offer and have a great day. john

Hi John

New scuba diver myself this year. I have a dozen or so dives in the last month. Just got back from a week in the Cape. Did a few dives on the Bay side. Learning the area. Plan on going a lot more per we have a place in Dennis. I have a boat and will most likely be in the Cape while you’re there. You’re welcome to join me.

The dives I did were from shore. Let me just say, the heck with that. A lot of work getting all the gear to the beach. Think I’ll stick with falling off the boat. I had a couple of my friends teenage kids with mew and thought shore would best for them. Bay side is def mellow. No current to worry about. Have the scoop on some areas to try with a little deeper water. Go shoot some sea bass and Fluke in.

Do you live or pay taxes in MA? If not you can’t get a lobster permit.

Shell fish permits are needed for each and every town not state wide. Major PIA.
