Diver looking for compatible diver or divers for shore diving. Will have rental truck. I dive nitrox and love to look for creatures.

I have never been to Bonaire before, nor have I done shore diving - so will appreciate a buddy who has experience with that.

Hi, I may be interested, depending if I can break away. I’m a 53 year old female computer programmer, small but fit. Decent skills. Done shore diving on Bonaire, but sometimes depended on a stronger (male) buddy to help in surf. Still, I think we could figure it out. Where are you thinking of staying?

You really don’t need much here. There is a washing machine and a clothesline (no dryer) so you don’t even have to bring that many clothes. Some snack food items are hard to find here so if you have a specific after dive snack bring some. I would fill any allowable baggage room with snack items, those seem to be the highest here in relation to home. Most things are available at the many grocery stores.. Van Den Tweel and Warehouse are just on the other side of the airport and easy to get to. Prices are a bit high on some things but not as high as Cayman. The truck rental has been the most expensive thing we have come across. You could literally walk from the airport to the house. Sounds like you are coming in when Ann leaves again after TG holidays. She will pretty much have everything set up for you. Dive Friends dive shops have 4 or 5 locations including the closest one to the house (Port location is about half mile away). They don’t advertise it but they sell an air fill punch card with 15 fills for $160. Otherwise you have to get 6 consecutive days unlimited twice for two weeks. (around $400) For me that’s more diving than is necessary.. Much more laid back for a vacation when you can dive when you feel like it and when the weather is ideal..two weeks is long enough to be able to do that. OH.. they do have a clipboard at the dive shops/fill stations for those looking for a buddy. I only used the one at the port location since that’s where ive been most. I got no response to that using my email address.. (didn’t want to put the phone down) but I might have done better if I had posted at each location.(the others, yellow sub, dive inn, and sand dollar are all busier than the port location)

Hey Jane,

We are a little more than a month out. Have you decided on a dive shop?

Brian -

My divebuddy who is showing up for Dec. 14 -21 is staying at the Belmar. I think that place is affiliated with Dive Friends.

But I am open to suggestions.

Jane

Starting to get excited.

Hey Jane,

Belmar, is somehow associated with Buddy’s. Bonaire Dive Friends has 5 locations, the one in front of the airport is easy to use. I think 160.00 for 6 days unlimited either air or nitrox.

What airline are you using and arrival time? I’m United direct form NJ in at 5:40 AM

Bill - Since I prefer nitrox I guess I will go with Dive Friends.

I’ll check first thing about the checkout dive and getting a park permit.

How will I contact you? Is it worth buying a sim to put in my cellphone?

I am ready to dive!

Hey,

I will be arriving early and will be doing some diving on Saturday. You will arrive later, till you get a rental and find where your staying its will be sunday morning for you to check out dive shops and check out dive.

I will have my cell, but on the island text message only. And I leave it in the safe most of the time.

Two choices. 1. meet at 9:00 oclock at Dive Friends Bonaire-its across from airport. You can get your package, and dive tag there, but you must go to the office in town for check out dive.

-or- 2. text me on Saturday 5:00 pm if you need help with where grocery store is, things like that. I’ll be staying Happy Holiday homes which is south of you. main road past Belmar, y in road keep right to happy holiday on left. only 10 units, I don’t know which one yet.

Hey Zonicles,

If you need my cell number for texts, ask @ bgdiver1963@gmail.com. Will not post on this site, if you know what I mean. Dive lest than 2 weeks...
