dive buddy for Curacao - Jan 25/26 - Feb 2 - $158 non-stop roundtrip from Miami

I’ve never been to Curacao but heard the shore diving is awesome and I just saw airfare from Miami-Curacao (non-stop) for $158 roundtrip. I’m torn between flying to Curacao solo or heading to Coco View Resort in Roatan where I know it’s an organized 4 dives a day plus shorediving.

Anyone have any thoughts on how hard it will be to find someone in Curacao to do 4 dives a day?

Anyone interested in a last minute trip?

I’m AOW & Nitrox certified. Only about 60 dives but have done about 30 this year including about 15 on a liveaboard @ the Phi Phi’s in Thailand back in October.

I’m 29 and plan on enjoying local seafood & beers at night. Nothing too crazy...but I don’t plan on just going to bed after diving. I mean, it is a vacation. There isn’t much better than a beach bar in the Caribbean.

Must be a Miami special only. Flights from Houston to Curacao on those dates are over $600. What airline is offering that price?

The airline is Dutch Antilles Express (DAE). They are backed by the government of Curacao so I’m guessing that’s why they are offering such low rates. The low rates extend over the next few months. They don’t codeshare with other airlines so non-South Florida people would probably have to find a cheap flight to Miami to make use of it.

I hope they last longer than ANL did which was KLM junior! They were an hour late on a flight from Bonaire to Curacao, missed my KLM connection to New York so they put me up in the Holiday Inn and then flew me out on AA. I can see where that business model wouldn’t last long!
