Opinions are like.......bikeracks. If you want to broaden your possibilities of dive buddies, you might try eliminating your profile statements "Stupid Solo Diver" and "Killer Catfish". Kinda says "Hey, I`m an idiot, let`s go taunt the fish!" Doesn`t bother me, but then I don`t usually give it up that I dive "sans buddy".

I USE THE WORD "STUPID" TO SOMETIMES BECOME "HUMBLE". I DIVE ALONE ALOT SIMPLY CAUSE LIVING 5 MINUTES FROM THE RIVER ALONG WITH A VERY FLEXIBLE WORK SCHEDULE OFFERS ME WAY TO MANY AWKWARD TIMES TO DIVE ON A WHIM. KINDA HARD TO FIND "LAST MINUTE" BUDDIES WHO CAN DO THE SAME. THE WEBSITE I FIRST SAW OUR CUTE LITTLE AVATARS ON DESCRIBED THIS NEW BREED OF FISH AS A "KILLER CATFISH". I DID GET THE PRIVELAGE OF LYING NEXT TO A HUGE KITTYCAT SEVERAL WEEKS AGO THAT WAS AS BIG AS ME!!! 5`8"&220LBS!!! WHEN HE FINNALLY HAD ENOUGH AND MOVED, THERE WAS A NICE THREE INCH MEG LAYING RIGHT UNDER HER!!! THAT`S THE SECOND TIME THAT HAS HAPPENED TO ME IN THE LAST 6 WEEKS. I THINK THE BIG KITTIES LIKE ME!!!

I think the big kitties are in love with me!!!!! so far, 2 of the bigger ones have been lying on top of some nice teeth. Here`s my theory, the big kitty gets my attention, I go lay next to big kitty, kitty moves, I see nice teeth where kitty was!!!! PRESENTS FROM KITTIES!!!!!lol

romance can also come in many forms, mine is tremendous for the teeth and artifacts lost in time on the rivers bottom. did I mention I love bottom time ? remember the movie ROMANCING THE STONE?, I romance the cooper river !!! OK thruth is, you can get a lot of extra dive money for the stuff I find !!!! and dive money equals extra gear, I`m up to 8 tanks,2 full reg sets,5 suits,3 masks,2 bc`s,6or7 lights, god only knows how much weight, goody bags,ect... heck, I even recover old fishin` weights & melt them down to dive weights!!!not uncommon to bring up 15+ lbs. per trip.only 1 boat though, DARN !!!, need to work on that lol

I wanna know who`s going in wearing the lead apron. And who, in their right mind (or their left mind), would even THINK of screwing around in nuke wastewater. Oh, that`s right, "stupid solo diver".

Please for my sake, tell me if I`m wrong. There is a difference between "waste water" & "cooling water" right? I don`t think DEHC would allow such a thing as contaminated water flowing in a lake- would they?--hope not !

Larry, just in case you hadn`t noticed- I changed one critical word in my profile shortly after reading your "comment" I`ll have you know I am now a "smart" _____diver!!!!! It`s just a hot water discharge, I`ve fished there before & didn`t see any glowing fish. It`ll just be nice to dive a 3mil again !!! By the way, how`s your history? I`ve posted 2 new pics from todays dive. I THINK I FOUND A BONE HAIR PIN !!! If anyone can ID this please let me know.

Hey, to each their own. Just something about diving anywhere AROUND a Nuke Facility. Do you, by chance, "noodle" catfish when you aren`t spitting out loose teeth or losing hair?

Heck No!!! All BS aside, there was a terrible interaction with a snorkeler and a gator here this past summer. He had "heard" about noodling and decided he would try it. While looking down from above for possible catfish holes, he did not see the gator. Sorry if the photo looks a little gross. The manager of this facility is a dear friend and neighbor. Prob. the only reason I got a photo. Sadly though, there were signs posted to be aware of gators.

Lemme help ya here. www.rescuediver.org Nothing wrong with reality and the hazards of taunting hungry sharks. So ,TrickyRick, did you have to go through a lot of physical therapy to continue diving with only one arm?

Seriously,Rick, there is no real problem with diving close to a plant(except for intake valves,,another story). Warms the area up around the discharge site. In fact, that is why in Florida down by Crystal River area all the manatees winter there. The discharge from the plants help keep the water a toasty 72 degrees and it would be illegal to dump radioactive affluent in the waterways. Enjoy your dive!
