Hey all. I just started teaching independently in Augusta, GA and am trying to keep the costs for my students down. What I’m looking for is somewhere I can do their check out dives. They don’t want to do Lake Thurmond, and quite honestly, neither do I. They are willing to drive for a few hours if need be. Any suggestions?

I don’t know of any areas but we have 2 awesome moderator/divebuddy members who are in Georgia that you can contact and they may be able to give ideas.  ShoreDiving.com list two sites in Georgia but both appear to be fresh water and not beach dives. Some divers talking on a boat I used just south of Savanna said they had found an old wreck in the river but the vis was awful and the time between tides very short, not a place to be taking students.
