I have a Epoque model EHD-800 underwater camera & housing and wanted to add a dedicated light/strobe. I would like some sugestions on the type I should get. I have limited fund so something in the middle of the road.

Thank You Steve

I wouldn’t say I’m your best bet for photo accessories advice, but I’ve been using an Olympus fe-3010 camera and fairly recently purchased an Intova ISS 4000 slave strobe and have been delighted with the results. However, I just recently splurged and purchased the new Nikon D5100 (like literally yesterday) and am waiting for the housing to be released for it. I plan on using the same flash for it, so I’ll try to let you know what happens if your still in the market when I get my new housing. I also have a friend with a Canon SLR and housing already, so maybe I’ll let her use my strobe if we go this weekend, and post the results of that.

If you look at my photos, the most recent 10 (not all) or so are taken with the strobe, from there on down (either the grouper or the school of little fish in the pier pilings) the rest were without the strobe. If you want, I’ll send you some more of my recent shots, so you can see that there are certainly a fair share of shots screwed up by the strobe as well... (but I’m fairly sure that’s my fault, not the strobe’s)
