Flying with your gear

I am going to the Cayman’s from April 20th throught the 25th and I want to take my gear. I thought I would save a good bit on rentals and I know how well my gear has been taken care of. I was looking on the internet at a few websites to see about how to fly with it. Most suggest to take you regs and computer in a carry on and check your BCD, fins and wet suit. I seem to agree with this for the most part. I do not have a reg bag yet so I was going to use my dive boots to pad my guages, and put my computer in my mask case, that will also be in my carry on. I know the mask could take the abuse of the travel but, I want to keep the computer with me. Does anyone have any suggestions. I am also taking my spare BCD for my mom’s fiance because it is the one that he is used to using, such as the power inflator controls and such. Any and all suggestions are welcome.

In your carry on you need what you can’t borrow IF your checked bag doesn’t arrive with you. Being Cayman that’s your bathing suit and maybe your favorite tee wrapped around your camera, dive computer and reg. Your primary mask that you know won’t leak unlike rentals that may or not fit.

Don’t put your c-card in the checked bag, without it the above is useless!

Yes bring the BC he is used too! And if you are close on weight, take the cam band off and wear it as a jacket :)

They are all the right things to put in your carry on.If you have some room put some cloths in it to protect your reg.If your dive computor is a wrist style wear it on on the plane.Have a great time

I hadn’t thought about wearing my wrist computer on the plane. Thanks for the advice.
