If you don’t have time before you leave for Cozumel, you can get in touch with a dive shop there and get your open water certificate with them. Any dive shop should offer this course near where you live. Dudley

NAUI also has an upgrade procedure from Junior SCUBA Diver to SCUBA Diver. If you still have contact with your instructor, contact him/her for details. If not, go to www.naui.org and click on locate a member/instructor for a NAUI Instructor in your area. Another option (especially if you haven’t been diving regularly) is to take a SCUBA Refresher Experience program and your instructor will handle the upgrade during that time.

Hey worry about it. The cert. you have is just untill you turn 16. After that you are a open water diver. Your card says junior due to the fact you got it at 9. I think you may have been 10 because PADI only will cert junior at 10. If you have any questions call your local padi dive shop and they can get you a new card or simply go online at www.padi.com and you can do it that way. Start over with a basic OW course, as if you had never been certified at all. It is highly likely that you will learn a lot more now that you are older so start at the beginning and re-learn it all. (Don’t dive like a 9 year old ... you’re not 9 anymore)
