Where’s a good place to stay and dive in Key West this April 2010?

I dive with Dive Key West and had nothing but great service. In fact, I’ll be heading there next week to do the Vandy. Enjoy. If you are in Key Largo, I highly recommend Island Ventures. Anne and Darrell are fantastic and have smaller boats and more personalized service.

I’ve used Captains Corner as a dive op and was pleased. They dock just across from Conch Republic and the Mel Fisher musium. I did not stay in Key West however and could not recommend lodging.

Let me know when you are going to be down there. I am in Orlando and usually do a Keys trip in April and September. Know most of the dive operators in both the lower and upper keys. As a Divemaster I have led quite a few groups in the Keys over the years.

Thanks Diverchaz, scubalarry54, and eastcoastdiverLLC for your responses. I just got back from a week in the Mayan Riviera. Between 4 days of torrential downpours and thunderstorms, I managed to squeeze in a day of reef diving and 4 cavern tours. The cenotes were definitely the highlights of this trip. From what I’ve seen and heard, Bil Phillips at www.speleotech.com is THE place to get cave-certified. I can’t wait to go back and take a cave course!
