I’m looking for sugestions on dives around the Tampa area. I will be there in late June. My son and I are looking forward to a first dive together.

Thanks Steve

What sort of dives/experience level are you looking for? There’s some good gulf trips out of Bradenton or Clearwater, FL. Some okay springs or river drift dives up near Crystal River and Ocala. Or there’s the aquarium at Epcot. 6 million gallons of unlimited visibility.

Here’s a couple of the local charter services to the gulf. Weather permitting there’s a boat going out everyday from one of them.

Clearwater ~ http://www.tanksalotdivecharter.com/Home_Page.php

Bradenton ~ http://www.bluewaterexplorers.com/ Say hi to Capt. Bob if you go.

Or check out some of the local dive shops: www.depthperception.com , www.tampascubadiving.com , www.macssports.com are a few in the area. They can probably get you in a charter cheaper. Weather permitting there’s a boat going out everyday.

As I mentioned before there’s also Blue Grotto and Devils Den up near Wiliston, FL. Okay dives but it’s about a 2 hour drive from Tampa. Not sure if WeekiWachi is letting divers in these days. I know they didn’t for awhile.
