Does anyone know of any scuba diver hostels anywhere?

Have you been to or heard of a hostel that caters to scuba divers? A hostel near a beach or lake that primarily serves divers.

Would you stay at a hostel, with dorm style rooms and shared bathrooms, if it was close to a good dive spot and very affordable?

Look at mayonviewresort.com (a homestay that would be upscale from a hostel). When considering the amenities and what is included it is affordable.

That’s more like a mini dive resort, at $100 per day per person.

That’s a good discription of Olympus Divings dive lodge in NC, $25.00 a night and a short walk to their boats.

I have heard of Olympus doing that. I’ve actually dove with them before. I didn’t realize they had so many bunks and it was that cheap. That is exactly the type of place I’m talking about. Anymore out there? I’d also be interested to know how many divers stay at Olympus.

We have a basic/clean family run hostel in Musandam, Oman if anyone is ever passing the area... 250AED (approx $75 per night including Mum’s home cooked dinner and breakfast the next day :)

Captain’s Corner in Key West. $35.00 per night period. No taxes. Short walk to dive charters, Duval St., and tons of places to eat.

IF you are an early to bed, no party person you’ll want a room as far away as possible from the living room!

With our group the women all took one room so they could close the door to change and not tie up a bathroom for that.

Not a dorm but for the Jupiter/WPB area DB’s JupiterMermaid will rent divers a room that comes with kitchen and gear drying privileges for $50. We always stay there.

If you are diving with JDC then she may be your DM too.

We run a Bed and Breakfast - Amanda’s Bequest near Lake Michigan in Montague, Mi. - that is diver friendly with plenty of room for parking boats, cars... Of course this is not at hostel pricing $100 but you get a GREAT Breakfast too.

This one looks just like what I’m talking about. $25 per person per night. Just the basics. Seems clean. Great location.
