I have an original GoPro and it works very well. They are a fun little video camera to use.

I don’t have one yet but I have seen plenty of video from dive drips. It takes awesome video and with the ease of use and compact size it’s just what a diver needs. Photos are also pretty awesome. I don’t think you’ll find anything comparable for the price.

I have the GoPro2.. Great videos!! It’s very easy to use.. The 3 is even easier to use than 1 or 2.. WELL worth the money you spend.. I have a bunch of videos I took in the Bahamas back in September in a shark dive if you want to see them. They are on my youtube page: youtube.com/trollwolf I also have videos on my motorcycle (looking at different mounting positions) and I even had my 6 year old daughter waer the camera on her head while playing in our backyard waterslide.. It’s an awesome little camera..

Looking at GoPros website it looks like the 3 comes in a dive ready housing where the 2 you had to purchase a seperate housing for diving. Am I correct about this or will the 3 also have to have a seperate dive housing?

The flat lens housing (Dive housing) does come with the 3.. It’s only 49 dollars for the 1 and 2 though, so it’s not a huge expense anyway.. 3 also already come Wi-Fi enabled which would be awesome.. The Wi-Fi & remote are on my Christmas list for this year. I have just about every other accessory they make for it.. I love this little camera!! :)

I ordered a HERO3 Black at the DEMA show in Las Vegas, and can’t wait to get my hands on it. The HERO3 comes in three versions, Basic, Silver, and Black. I recommend the Black. About $100 more, but much better results. Go on the internet and search for HERO 2 vs. HERO 3 or GoPro comparisons, and there are a bunch of actual videos as well as data for you to review. However, I believe you will be more than satisfied with the HERO3 Black.

I was pretty happy with my 2 until I saw this video on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tnpcJLJyAbw
Now it looks like I might need to upgrade before my trip to Fiji in March.

I have the 2 and love it but haven’t really put it to the test yet. I just did some pictures and video snorkeling in Florida and the pictures are great.

Is the remote waterproof as well? If not, I think I could put it in a vacuum sealed bag to take it down with me. What do you guys use for mounting options? I’ve seen people talk about extendable aluminum poles so they can get some self shots....anyone do a tank/wrist/mask mounting?

Just found info, remote is waterproof to 10 feet....so vacuum seal bag it is. Still interested in mounting options though, and experience with battery life (does it last a full dive? Did you get the battery BacPac?).

I see ALOT of the GoPro diving videos on YouTube, but many of them are really blue! The ones that were taken after a white balance was done still look blue. The only ones that look really colorful apparently are taken using a red lens filter. Is this the best set up for this camera, a red filter instead of doing a white balance?
