Opinions on a new mask

Hi everyone. Im looking to update my old mask and would apprieciate some of your experienced opinions. I currently have a ScubaPro mask with the side windows and a purge. I like these features, but I have to use both index fingers to equalize. Im looking for something with a purge and the widest field of view possible that allows one handed equalization. I also am considering getting the colored (magenta? rose?) lenses since I dive in south Florida. What are your opinions on the color correcting lenses? Black or clear skirt? Any recomendations with these criteria in mind?

Thanks!

Had a mask issue once and the boat handed me one with rose colored lens rather than dig my back-up out of the bag. I didn’t see a difference. It would love to see someone make a mask with Transition lens that would darken on the surface :)

I don’t like purge valves.

Photographers and hunters seem to like black skirts but I prefer clear so I can see whats going on around me.

The only mask I really hated was that 6 window Mares, besides leaks it had so much volume that when swimming on your side looking under things you could feel it trying to float up.

I have a SeaVision 2000 Rx corrective/bifocal with purge and rose tint I wouldn’t trade for anything.  To purge with 1 hand use thumb and index finger to purge with 3rd or 4th finger under the purge just to give it some support.  Before I learned this i popped the purge out 10 minutes into a 70’ dive.  I just kept my head horizontal to gravity and purged every minute or two, finished the dive, taking pictures, and my buddies didn’t even know I had a mask problem.

Below is a link to the mask I bought over the wintere from Dive Gear Express. I love this mask. Great field of view, fits really nicely, very comfortable, and the lens just doens’t fog up. The mask the DGE sell can be fitted with a purge valve and I believe can have coloured lenses added, and have an anti-fog build into them. I just really like this one nad would recommend it to others.

Thanks for the input. I was also told that the color correction lenses do not work well beyond 40’. So, I ended up buying the Mares i3 with a black skirt (which I love!) I didn’t get the purge, which is taking some getting used to. I dove off Pompano Beach this weekend and the mask was great. However, I think that before long I am going to accumulate many different masks and other redundant gear.   ....Thanks

I have a Seavision with a magenta lens.
I love the mask and the magenta lens.
I get a pretty good ribbing from my friends because of the "pink" lens.

Without a doubt I love the SeaVision, have several different models and they fit just about any face with the high quality silicone.

Oh, and I’ve got a clear SeaVision and red correcting SeaVision and down here in Florida much prefer the red correcting.
