Exclusive Dive Art from Rogest

Adventure Scuba Company is exceptionally proud to present
"Tanner" a very special, limited edition print especially designed
for and commissioned by Adventure Scuba
Company by world renowned marine
conservationist and artist Rogest.

ROGEST the Artist - Best job in the world and his boss is a real PAIN ..... !

Yep you got it, he works for himself. To make it all happen he has to drive
himself hard, real hard. He travels and dives the world scuba diving in some of
the most exotic tropical locations, he visits trade shows in Europe and North
America to speak passionately about his love of diving and when he’s alone in
his studio in Canada, Ron Steven aka "Rogest" as most people know him
paints the beauty of the underwater world. Ron has become a world renowned
marine artist and we are honored to be working with him on this project.

A stocky man at 54, he’s a powerhouse of energy with a genuine interest in
people and a mischievous sense of humor. The nature of his work means he meets
a wide variety of people and if someone doesn’t much care for his robust
enthusiasm, he feels challenged to win them over ! No one escapes his blowtorch
personality and most walk away feeling good about their contact with him.
"I believe you end up where you subconsciously wish to go," says
Rogest who recognized early he had the ’gift of the gab’ ...... kind of like
our very own Henry Johnson at Adventure Scuba Company !

It wasn’t always like this, however. When Rogest left school he was, he says, a
little fat English boy who dreamed of saving dolphins and protecting the ocean.
So Rogest became a scuba instructor and ended up in Australia and spent almost
15 years diving the Great Barrier Reef and Papua New Guinea. Not a bad gig.

Rogest’s next endeavor was to share the visual magic of the ocean with divers
and non divers worldwide. With no formal art training, Rogest had a challenge,
to become an artist and do some good. He’d always sketched and now he wanted to
reproduce some of the vibrant life beneath the waves. He called his art ROGEST
- a play on his name Ron George Steven- "I’m trying to convey the
underwater beauty using dot painting to express what is in my imagination,"
he explains. "It’s a style of art I find relaxing and therapeutic.

Ron is such an extravert, it’s hard to believe he can stop talking and be in
his own company for more than a day. Yet his style of art requires hours and
days of painstaking work often building up to 9 layers of different paint and
texture before he’s satisfied with the end result. Each dot on the canvas is
potentially three-dimensional and is very time consuming to achieve.

ROGEST has a business model that states 1/3 of his time is spent working with
and donating to education, environmental and ocean critter related causes. He
works with kids and adults worldwide. His trips and events for 2012 include
hosting and participating in Family Weeks with the Aggressor and Dancer fleets;
land based fun events for young and old with Ocean Encounters in Curacao and
diving with Pirates in Cayman Brac. Maybe soon at ASC ? hmm .....

Check out why Rogest was inducted into the International Scuba Diving Hall of
Fame at rogest.com not to mention gracing the "Sea Star Wall of Fame"
at Adventure Scuba Company.
