Time for our 4th annual "Knock the Diving Rust Off" event! This time in a new location as chosen by our members!
When: Saturday, April 18, 2015 @ 9:00 a.m.
Where: Devil’s Den, 5390 N.E. 180th Ave, Williston, FL
You haven’t been able to join us on any dives yet in 2015? Or you have joined us, but you’re looking for another excuse to get in the water, see some old friends, meet some new friends, practice some skills, and/or try out some new gear? Oh – and lunch – don’t forget about lunch!!! Have we got the day for you!
One thing divers work on constantly is buoyancy. We’d like to help! Get properly weighted, streamline your gear and your body position, and get your breathing under control all in one day – or at least get some tips on how to improve these things over time. The payoff can be remarkable - rewarding you with better air consumption, increased confidence, and more energy.
Maybe you’re already comfortable with your buoyancy and just want a quick seminar on how to check and maintain your gear for the diving season.
If there’s a topic you have a question on, let us know and we’ll add it to our discussion. This is a great time to pick our brains on anything diving related - from beginning recreational to becoming a dive professional to technical diving to using diving as a tool for shooting photos and videos or hunting. With over 30 years of combined diving experience, we’ve covered the gambit.
Come out and join Life Underwater as we host a diving rodeo – ok, not a rodeo, but we’ll have some fun stations for you to practice your buoyancy, show you how to check and maintain your gear, and we will have a lunch time discussion on all things diving, including a few tips on avoiding or solving complications under water.
Have a family member that doesn’t dive but would be interested in joining us and snorkeling? Bring ’em along!
We’re including the workshop, lunch, and entry to the springs – all for the low cost of $46.65/diver or $23/snorkeler and $10 if just coming up for lunch and to hang out. So join us for the fun!
Full payment is due at time of booking and MUST be received by April 12th.
Reservations are NOT confirmed until payment and your trip application are received. Payments are nonrefundable if you cancel less than 7 days before the event. Please note that rental gear and tanks are not included in the cost. The folks at Devil’s Den are offering our members special fill rates for this event - $5 for air - if you need to get tanks filled while you’re there.
Please call us at 813-708-TRIP (8747) with any questions.
PS - Several of us plan to camp over at Devil’s Den that night. We invite you to spend the night and hang out with us and then possibly dive Blue Grotto the next day (cost to dive Blue Grotto is $40/pp+tax). Devil’s Den does have cabins available for rent. You can find all the info you need to reserve a campsite or cabin on their website.
