The Hathaway bridge was originally built in 1929. The spans were from the old bridge that connected Panama City to Panama City Beach. There are 14 Hathaway bridge spans. The spans were sunk in April-May of 1988. Span #1 was sunk on 29 April 1988.

Site is approximately 4.6 (nautical) miles outside the St. Andrews Pass on a 176.6 degree heading.
