This dive will blow your mind! The name of this cenote means “7 Mouths” as there are 7 cenotes or mouths at this site. The dive starts in boca 1, and you swim under all bocas except for the 7th one.
We follow the cavern guideline down to one of the most impressive hydrogen sulfide clouds you’ll ever see. The cloud is thick and you’ll immediately feel a tingle on your face from the sheer beauty, or maybe it’s just the decaying organic material that the cloud is made of 😜
This cavern is shaped like a jar, with the bottom much wider than the top of the cenote. Along the bottom of the cavern wall, where it touches the cloud, you’ll see tiny nubs that are actually biothems - the same bells you see in Zapote and Kin-Ha. These formations are the only ones that grow underwater, all other formations grew while the cave was dry.
On the way back up, we’ll follow another cavern line that takes us under all other cenotes where we enjoy cool formations, Mojarra Mayas, Catfish, baby Mollys and spectacular lighting. This is definitely one coolest dives in Puerto Morelos.
