Molson Island Cliff is a boat accessible fresh water dive site, located in Georgeville, QC, Canada. The maximum depth is over 150ft/46m.
We anchor in the 20 feet on a 40-foot long slope from where a steep cliff plunges in a westerly direction to depths inaccessible for recreational diving. This cliff, which has a particular structure, is located at the southern entrance to Quinn Bay. At its summit, opposite the tip of the island, we can see an old navigation buoy resting on its side. The dive begins on a shallow pebble bottom. Many bass frequent the edges of the island. As we head offshore, towards Mount Owl’s Head located on the other side of the lake, we reach a very steep cliff, parallel to the shore of the island.
As you walk along this vertical cliff, you move under overhangs that block the light coming from the surface. Often enjoying visibility of more than 30 feet below the thermocline, the play of light created by the passage of the sun’s rays through the rocky asperities offers a magnificent spectacle. Suddenly, it is a 90° turn that you must make when approaching the western tip of the island. Remaining within the limits of recreational diving, you evolve, suspended above a dark chasm that falls ever lower under the fins...
