Jewett Point (McPherson Bay) is a boat accessible fresh water dive site, located in Georgeville, QC, Canada. The maximum depth is over 150ft/46m.
Anchoring is in 15 feet of water on a horseshoe-shaped point. The inside depth varies between 5 and 40 feet. This is a very fishy site located at the north entrance to McPherson Bay. A cliff runs around the point about 450 feet from the shore. Many bass frequent the top of the cliff from the shore. Many of these bass reach a size of more than 60 centimeters and allow themselves to be approached by divers.
On the bottom we can see a good number of small sculpins as well as many darters here and there. On the cliff, we encounter schools of rock bass at the exit of the bay, towards the open sea. Also, there are many catfish that "graze" in the grass beds near the cliff. Outside the horseshoe, there is a cliff with a steep slope and a drop of more than 100 feet. Along this cliff, we can admire all the crevices that are on our way along this vertical rock wall. At a depth of 70 to 100 feet, you can observe the ouananiches that inhabit the crevices along the cliff. Check your depth carefully...
