We love Big Tunnels for it’s exciting topography and fantastic corals. Descend onto the reef to the north of the mooring line and drop into a small sandy canyon. Pass on the right of a coral head under it’s overhang and find tarpon, horse-eye jacks and beautiful soft corals. Follow the canyon towards the wall and descend through a huge arch - stay above it’s bottom if you don’t want to break 110ft! The arch pops you straight out into the blue above the wall drop-off. Head south, shallowing up, and explore the tunnels that wrap twist through the reef and spit you back onto the wall. Keep an eye on the blue for eagle rays and passing pelagics. Circle up onto the top of the reef in 60-70ft and enjoy the reef fish and the odd turtle, returning to the mooring line to start your ascent to the safety stop. An exhilarating and beautiful dive.
