Loading...
Canyon Lake is a boat accessible fresh water dive site, located at Tonto National Forest, AZ. This dive site has an average rating of 2.33 out of 5 from 3 scuba divers. The average visibility is 21-25ft/6-8m.

This lake has a clumpy silt that is mixed with algae. This and the tall walls of the Canyons it is named for do much to filter the light entering the water. The outcome is a dark dive that becomes a virtual night dive below 30’. A quality dive light is needed and will allow you to see 20’ and keep track of your dive buddy. Plenty of fish to see along a rocky and sandy bottom and the canyon walls hide plenty of fish in the crevices.

I went scuba diving here on 9/14/2014. Water temp: 66-70°F/19-21°C.
Didn’t locate lost Fins / Mask / Ring. Did locate fish sanctuary, bag of umbrellas, and fish net. Very low visibility.

Going out for a dive here this weekend. Swimming here seems to be not to bad. We will see what happens!

Small Cave system at the beginning of the narrow section leading into canyon lake. On western canyon wall, marked my piton in rockface.

Call it advanced lake diving due to the low light and heavy structure. Very enjoyable!
