False Bay is a boat accessible salt water dive site, located in South Africa. This dive site has an average rating of 3.67 out of 5 from 3 scuba divers. This dive site provides bathrooms and airfills.

There is a large population of seals there so I would plan my dives close to the kelp fields as where there are allot of seals there are also Great Whites. Although in the history of diving in South Africa there has never been a Great White diver incident at depth. The local operaters know the best location and they are very dependable to take you to a safe location for your dive. Most dive operation use rib boats as they have proven best with the constant surge and diver recovery.

False Bay is dived into two opposite sides, Simons Town on the West and Gordons Bay/Rooiels on the East. Depending onthe wind and weather, we have a choice of diving all year round.
Except for the famous great white shark, there are also a large variety of shallow and deep water fish, whales, dolphin and orca’s also visit.
If you not local, please make use of the local operator to help you with shore and boat dives.
I would recommend Blue Flash Charters and Pisces.
If you have learnd to dive in Cape Town waters, you can dive anywhere in the world. We have the best training water in the world, low visability, cold, and challenging shore entries.
Come dive Cape Town!

southern South Africa has some incredible diving on the Atlantic & I O side. The Atlantic side in most cases requires at least a full 7 mm and should be restricted to "Advanced Open Water" divers w/at least 50 dives in waters that have a current & surge. The only exception would be Hout Bay but, the diver should still be a minimum of Advanced Open Water and dive w/an experienced diver as there dive buddy.
