From JASA’s site: Tear Drop and Ron’s Rock — Another beautiful 45—60 foot reef, this area is well known for turtles, lobsters and tropical fish. It does not have as much relief as some of the others until you get to the north end, where you find Ron’s Rock. This is a section of the reef that is completely separate from the main section. We’ve even seen hammerhead sharks here!

Water temp: 76-80°F/24-27°C. 34% EAN We drop on Ron’s Rock, drift over Middle Earth, Fish Bowl and almost to Breakers. Tons of grunts, cowfish, a big burrfish hiding under a ledge, more turtles and eels.

billsoccer - 7/21/2013 7:52 PM Rating Added: 4 Went there 7/19/13. Was my favorite site in the area, as it had the largest ledges and some small swim-throughs. A memorial plaque rests near Rons Rock. What made this site memorable was a Goliath Grouper (500 lbs?) which hovered near Rons Rock and occasionally rested on the sand, watching for unwary fish.
