There’s a trail from the lot that’s less than a 100 yard walk to the shore, where the entry is quick and easy. I’ve dove here 7-8’ with moderate current, retrieving LOTS of tumbled glass of every color and size, left from days past when Gillander tossed slag into the river. The bottom is like a flowing molten mass, dark and solid with pockets where glass drops in and is covered in silt. With a slight brush of the hand, you’ll uncover some amazing glass treasures.

I’ve brough my kids (11, 11, 13) here snorkeling and they’ve been able to stay behind some rock outcroppings that break the current and sit about 2-3’ below the surface.

The visability will vary depending on time of year. The times I’ve gone it’s been about 5-8’.
