Crystal Bay - Indonesia

Loading...
Crystal Bay is a boat accessible salt water dive site, located in Nusa Penida, Bali, Indonesia. This dive site has an average rating of 4.11 out of 5 from 9 scuba divers. The maximum depth is 51-60ft/16-18m. The average visibility is 91-100ft/28-30m.

This dive site is very well known for viewing the Oceanic Sunfish (Mola Mola sp.) during the months of August-September. Parking, air fills, and gear rentals are available at the referred dive shop. Food and lodging are also available near the same dive shop.

From http://www.bigfishdiving.com/dive-sites.html; The “Crystal” in Crystal Bay refers to the fantastic visibility normally experienced here, which can reach 40m+ on good day. Crystal Bay is certainly one of the area’s most popular dive sites and is a favourite of the visiting mola mola (ocean sunfish) from August to October. The bay floor is covered with golden sand and is surrounded by sloping coral reef to either side. A healthy reef, an interesting cave, huge table coral and hundreds of fish of all shapes and sizes – there is not much that this dive site cannot offer.

If you want to see the mola-mola ,it’s the dive spot to meet them. it’s for good divers (level 2 or Advanced Open Water) because of the strong current that you can support sometimes. They come from the deeper to be cleaning by fishes June to October, if the water is fresh( 16 °C to 23°C).
