Home of the amazing MANTA NIGHT DIVE! Many dive companies along the Kona coast voyage to this site nightly to join the manta rays that frequent the area. The manta’s are attracted by the large amount of plankton which is attracted by shore and diver lights.

Great Dive! Saw Manta Rays during both our day and night dives.

I went scuba diving here on 7/29/2018. Average viz: 71-80ft/22-24m. Water temp: 76-80°F/24-27°C.
Did this dive as a day dive with Big Island Divers (part of their local Kona diving charter) .. it’s the same location as the Manta Ray Dive that happens at night. Nothing really to see during the day.

Amazing dive. Chartered with Neptune Charlie’s. We had an up close encounter with two known Manta Rays (Lefty and Orion). It’s a night dive because the plankton are attracted to the diver lights and the rays are attracted to the plankton.

Too bad there is no easy shoreline access, shore diving this site IS NOT recommended.

Saw the sand eels standing up from the sandy bottom, hence name "garden eels".
