Aeneas Beach is a shore accessible salt water dive site, located in Monterey, CA 93940. This dive site has an average rating of 3.00 out of 5 from 1 scuba divers. The maximum depth is 31-35ft/9-11m. The average visibility is 16-20ft/5-6m.

Did some diving at wee little Aeneas Beach in Monterey for the first time on 11/15/2014. It’s tucked to the right of the Monterey Plaza Hotel on Cannery Row.

There’s metered parking on the street and a stairway provides access to the small but nice beach.

The diving is similar to MacAbee a little further west on Cannery Row - a fairly sandy entry with the occasional rock to keep an eye out for.

Spent most of my time in the 20’ to 30’ range - seems like you’ll have to swim out pretty far if you want to go marginally deeper. Bottom is sandy with frequent clusters of kelpy rocks to explore. Viz was really good that day, 20+ feet.

There’s a kayak shop across the street that uses the beach for launches & landings - keep an eye out for kayaks when surfacing.

This is very much like McAbee.
It’s a nice little reef with short kelp, the usual critters and lots of sponge encrusted rock.

I was a novice when I dove here, so failed my entry, got rolled and lost my mask and snorkel (I have since recovered several sets to make up for the loss). Luckily, It’s right on the main street a block from a dive shop (at the time), so it didn’t stop my diving for the day :)
