Reuben Tarte Picnic Area is a shore accessible salt water dive site, located at Reuben Tarte Road, Gig Harbor, WA 98250. The maximum depth is 16-20ft/5-6m.

Roadside parking - walk down steep trail to a pebble beach.

  • Day Use Only

  • No facilities
Offers rocky shorelines and a beautiful reef, divers can explore either side of the cove, and investigate boulders and rocky habitats where Puget Sound king crab, Irish lords, small fish and a host of invertebrate life await you. This area can be silty, especially when wind-driven waves are present. One website warns of strong currents outside of cove, my charts show outside of cove over 30’ deep (RayC/LA).

Sounds more complicated than it is. From Friday Harbor drive out of town on Roche Harbor Road. In about 8 miles turn right on Rouleau Road. In a mile, turn right on Limestone Point Road, then in less than a mile at a “T” turn right on San Juan Drive and watch for the "Beach Access" sign and parking lot on left in less than ½ a mile. Park here and walk down or drive down and drop off passengers and return to parking lot. Trailers and large RV’s are not allowed due to steepness and very limited turn-around room.
