Lake Travis - Shaker Plant is a boat accessible fresh water dive site, located at Lake Travis, Austin, TX. This dive site has an average rating of 2.80 out of 5 from 5 scuba divers. The maximum depth is 141-150ft/43-46m. The average visibility is 5-10ft/2-3m.

Unbeknown to many Lake Travis visitors, hundreds of feet under where they swim and boat are some of the remnants of the plant that helped construct the lake. The Shaker Plant, which is about 100 to 150 feet under water when the lake is full, was built in the late 1930s to assist in the construction of Mansfield Dam.

Not bad but did not live up to the folklore and hype that I heard over the years diving at Lake Travis.
You’ll need a boat to get there. We used the USS Jimmy Page, a.k.a. Zoso

I went scuba diving here on 10/10/2015. Average viz: 5-10ft/2-3m. Water temp: 66-70°F/19-21°C.

At the time the what was very murky but it was a cool dive.
