. This was a shipwreck dive. The wreck is mostly just the hull of the ship. There was a very strong current running on this dive. There was also so many fish on the wreck that until you were on it you couldn’t see the wreck. We saw loggerhead turtles, and high hats, yellow rays, stripped grunts, barracuda, and shark suckers. There was also a lot of debris floating in the water. Tige took photos, but a lot of them didn’t come out all that good due to the debris scattering the light. We stayed in the water for 74 minutes. We would have stayed longer, but the current wore us out and made us use the air up. We got back on the boat to wait for the next dive. While we were waiting a squall came up and chased us below decks to wait it out.

It was still raining when we went in. Only a few of us were brave enough to do this dive. Those who stayed on board missed the best dive of the trip. The current was gone, and the loggerheads were all over. So were the yellow rays. When you flashed your light over the bottom all you saw was eyes. There were so many rays that I wouldn’t touch the bottom. We also saw blue and red squids swimming around. The only bad thing about diving at night in the ocean is the blood worms. The light attracts them and they swarm all over the place. They don’t hurt you, but they are a damned nuisance. With the current gone, we swam the entire length of the wreck. Black Beards cruise so all facilities were brought with us otherwise there are none.

I dove this wreck while on a Blackbeard Liveaboard Cruise in 06. This is a wreck that appeared to be carrying bags of concrete. It is full of turtles and stingrays.
