Holy Week
RoyJN - 3/30/2009 11:50 AM
Holy Week is just around the corner, soon I’ll be leaving for England tomorrow and be playing the organ for King’s College choir. I can scratch this off of my things to do list before I die now. Cannot believe this is happening to me, being in the presences of my favorite music group but actually playing the organ with them. It is so wonderful and a big blessing to see myself after all these years. To add more joy to Holy Week, I will swing over to Scapa Flow and do a dive there on a charter to ...
Losing your mother
RoyJN - 3/19/2009 5:43 PM
I guess losing your mother isn’t something that is bad, but can’t say it is good either. Its nature and God’s will that I guess she is to die. As you know, my mom and I never spoke, never talked or anything. When she did stuff to me that a mother wouldn’t do at age 7, I was taken away by my aunt. And my aunt would later died in Point Lobos on a dive about 5 years ago, I should have said, I wanted to go to the aquarium with her because her work at NASA just got so overwhelming that 3 hours of sle...
Onward!
RoyJN - 3/07/2009 8:47 PM
Just finished my rescue class today. Soon I’ll be moving toward divemaster and etc. Right now, hope my dive instructor gets the ANDI level 3 tech book. I’m going to go tech diving pretty soon!...
Moving up now!
RoyJN - 2/22/2009 12:41 AM
Well, I am now moving up the ladder. It was high time that I began moving from advance open water to rescue and soon to divemaster. At the same time, I’ll be doing the tech class through the ANDIs dive agency instead of PADI. So much has changed and now with the way I’m diving, it appears I have gotten so careful or too obsesse with it. Now, it appears I do the deco stop that I learned from GUE-F, alll my gears are now configurated to fit the diving needs. And because I’m so used to the drysuit,...
Still not tech yet!
RoyJN - 11/13/2008 12:26 AM
Well, still not tech yet. Waiting for the rescue class but I don’t want to take the tech class through Anywater Sport and I rather go with my friends who know and cares for me. With my family have passed on, I am now alone and very sad sometimes as there is nobody in my house to keep company. I don’t want a girlfriend or any friends. What I need is a family again. At least my friends have now become my foster parents where they love me and I love them....
Where I am now?
RoyJN - 8/26/2008 2:17 AM
Well...where I am now? Looks like after getting the drysuit, it wasn’t enough that I moved on to diving with a backplate, a hog harness, 7ft reg hose, a wrist computer, and now I’m diving in double tanks. Whats going on with me? I’m moving into tech diving. Always wanted to see what is beyond the edge, sure it is a dangerous class, but when done right, the dive can be beautiful. I got to see a beautiful reef where the top was only 126ft and in just that four feet above recreational dive, it was ...
Moving on!
RoyJN - 7/21/2008 9:38 PM
Well, its time for me to move on. Its time to move on to tech diving once I complete rescue and that depends on how I do well. For the past few months, now that I’ve been in a drysuit, getting used to it, diving for longer periods without getting cold, changing my gear to look like I’m a DIR/GUE wannabe diver with the long hose, jet fins, and the 12mm drysuit hood, I am ready to tackle a new challenge. And now that is diving with double tanks. First I need to get is another first stage and the n...
Back from Cozumel Back from Cozumel
RoyJN - 7/01/2008 1:11 AM
Well, I’m back from Cozumel. I had a great and wonderful time along with my foster parents and friends. Now its back to cold water in Monterey and time to dive drysuit. I’m also moving on with my dive rescue class, into wreck, and soon into Tech diving. Also, gonna move into getting double tank and soon, a hanging pony bottle. I know it is alot of class, but I enjoy being in a dive class. Anyways, wish me luck....

RoyJN - 5/31/2008 10:11 PM
Finally got my new drysuit. Did two dives are some site in Monterey Bay where saw a harbor seal, a pod of dolphins, and also a red cabezon. Otherwise, no camera used because didn’t want to overload myself too much....

Dive Log May 5th
RoyJN - 5/10/2008 11:01 PM
Went to Half Dome today. Sorry I haven’t been keeping up with my blog. Too busy with school and now I’m getting into Zen sand box toys. Unfortunately my mom haven’t gotten my drysuit yet so I’ll probably take this time to lose some weight and try to get the fat out. http://community.webshots.com/album/563377460hfKPlM?vhost=community...
More then just Drysuit now!
RoyJN - 4/18/2008 2:55 AM
Well, it looks like not only am I moving toward drysuit, but moving toward changing my gear and configuration. My configuration will be GUE/DIR type setup with the 7ft regulator hose, a backup 24 inch regulator hose, a canister light, a backplate, steel tank, jet fins, and of course, the drysuit. All these because I don’t know...I’ll still probably be a stroke diver as I’m not giving up my weight belt, my air source, my goofy atitude. But I think change is good....
Dive log March 29th Dive log March 29th
RoyJN - 4/01/2008 9:41 PM
Did two dive from the Sanctuary. The dive from the boat is a thank you and my patronage for Captain Jones and Matthew for taking me on a taxi ride to the Beach Hopper 2 in August. It was a very interesting dive day. Anyways, first dive did at Aumentos and I lost my reel which was very sad because it was my 150th dive gift from my mother and Brian. 2nd dive was at McAbbee site where we saw a flock of sea lions, a cabazon, and small invertebrates around the area. Otherwise, just another dive log o...

Did two dives in Monterey Bay. First dive was at Ballbuster where viz unfortunately was 20ft due to some layer that is really thick and it was sure dark. Second dive was at the aircraft prop where there was an octopus underneath it but couldn`t get it out for a good photo shot. Did saw a fringhead fish for the first time and the rare and beautiful spanish sprawl. Otherwise, a nice dive on Holy Easter too....
Royston is going Drysuit!
RoyJN - 3/17/2008 10:46 PM
Well, time to say goodbye to my wetsuit, it has served me many many dives and many shares of fun and joy together. But now I must move on to Drysuit as that would keep me warm as I lost all of my fat and blob. Well, not really going GUE/DIR as I refuse to give up my split fins, the integrated weights, and my headlamp. Anyways, More on this soon as I still got some thousand dollars left to go before I could pay it off!...
Grab my photos before its gone!
RoyJN - 3/11/2008 1:26 PM
Hello Fellow friend divers! Wow it has been 2 years since I got certified and completely become a regular in Monterey. As you know, I`ve been taking underwater pictures since being able to afford a camera. Unfortunately, my webshot account is gonna be full soon and I have to delete some of my album. Please grab all the pictures you want before I will clean out the old pictures to replace the new one. Since I got the YS-110 strobe and with the help of Robert Lee, a fellow friend and diver, my pic...

RoyJN - 3/10/2008 10:25 AM
Did two dives with Jack, one at Coral Street and the other at Lover`s Point. Both has some good vis but nothing too much in terms of creatures or anything dramatic. Gonna have to do a boat dive for that....
Dive Log March 7th
RoyJN - 3/10/2008 10:24 AM
Did two dives at Pt. Lobos. Mubin is becoming a wimp as he was getting so cold or something, should get a drysuit or a wetsuit. Last time I`m diving with that guy. Messed my photo too....

RoyJN - 3/05/2008 1:47 AM
Did two dives from the Beach Hopper 2, one of them being Half Dome which is my favorite site of all. I always hold it sacred because this was where I hit my 50th and 100th dive and now, I hit my 175th dive. Also did some photography work and hopefully it will get better and better. Took some wide angle shots also....
Dive Log February 23rd
RoyJN - 2/27/2008 10:55 AM
Did two dives from the Monterey Express. First dive tried to find the Mating Amtracks and that was a disaster. Not only was the anchor off by 250ft, only a few handful of people found it but couldn`t find the boat. Second dive was in Hopkin`s Deep where I found my 2nd wolf eel. Took some pictures of it and tried my new strobe. However, I need to get some ultra light arms to extend the strobe out a bit. Anyways, more to come....
