Our SSI Freediving course: Part 2 – open water. Our SSI Freediving course: Part 2 – open water.

Our SSI Freediving course: Part 2 – open water. On a damp, dreary November morning (nudging the mercury in the thermometer no higher than 10C) we met our instructors at Wraysbury, on the outskirts of London; one of the UK’s best loved and most used inland Scuba venues, tucked under the noisy approach to Heathrow (Europe’s biggest and busiest airport). We were given a pair of ‘open cell’ wet suits, whose soft, very tightly clinging neoprene – although only 5mm thick - was intended to protect us f...

Olympia is best reached via public transport, it has its own station on the District line of London’s tube. If you are driving it i...

Divefest in Cornwall, England If you’re in the UK in spring time and your into diving then Dive fest may be well worth a visit. Dive fest has three main things going for it; firstly it’s the only UK festival set up specifically for divers with several hard boats and a shuttle service of ribs taking people out to various local dive sites. Secondly it takes place in Cornwall, a very pleasant, and at this time of year very quiet corner of the UK that has its own special character with as much in co...
