CozumelMy first out of country dive trip was to Cozumel in January of 2008. When my flight left Dallas, Tx. the temperatures were in the upper 20`s. Upon arrival to Cozumel I stepped off the plane to temps in the mid 80`s and partly cloudy skies. It was about noon and we hurried to the motel "Casa Del Mar" and checked in, then off to the docks to board a boat for an afternoon 2 tank trip. Wow, from 20`s in Dallas to 79 degree water in Cozumel all in one day. After our second dive we came out of the water to find the boat silhouetted against a beautiful sunset. Then it was back to the motel for Food and Fun. The second day we did a two tank boat dive and were back in time for lunch. That night we did a 1 tank night dive. Well most did, I was exhausted and sat that one out. On Sunday it was another 2 tank boat dive and then we rented MoPeds and toured the East side of the Island. If you get the chance to do this, be sure and stop at Coconuts for beverage and a snack. There is also a small Cantina at Mezcalitas that gives the feel and flavor of the Island. We were there during Carnaval, and let me tell you that the floats and costumes topped any parade that I have ever seen in the States. We dove with Dive with Martin and I give them my Kudos. I am a big guy and dive with a lot of weight. It made climbing the ladder a chore. Their boat hands always took my BC from me so I would not have to climb the ladder with my tank and weights. I didn`t ask them to, they just wanted my experience to be as easy as possilbe. They also swapped my BC to a new tank between dives, and had fresh fruit available after dives. They also had all the bottled water you can drink available after each dive. I am scheduled to go to Bonaire in June, but rest assured that I will get back to Cozumel again some day very soon. Among the sites we dove were Paradise Reef, Palncar Bricks, Punta Sur, Devils Throat, and more. Now I quit writing and my thoughts wander back to the turquoise waters of Cozumel, see you there someday.........

Nice blog. I`m just a little jealous but I hope to be in some nice, warm (non-humid) weather soon! Sounds like a beautiful trip.
