Utila TripDive Trip to Utila and Roatan 4/23 - 5/02/06
Stayed at Cross Creek and had a blast diving with them and UDC. Loved their roomy comfortable boats. A great dive operation with both budget accommodations and the type my wife finds comfortable. I did 14 dives in the 9 days and spent the rest of the time running around the town, eating, and enjoying the relaxed Caribbean atmosphere with my non-diver wife. Didn`t see a whale shark this trip, but I will be back next March which is prime time to try again. Their dive operation is top notch and the staff is just great!

Prices around the island were very economical and haggling was not required to get them which was quite a change from most places where you feel like you are "fresh meat." Even taxis did not charge us three times the rate for locals. Quaint cafe`s and sidewalk restaurants and friendly locals make this a most enjoyable dive destination. Be sure and try RJ`s restaurant open Wed, Fri, and Sun evenings. Their seafood is fabulous and prices are very economical. The friendly neighborhood dogs and cats who occasionally wander through were all well behaved. See my trip report at scuba.royalcs.com/utila for many pictures and tips.
