"Oceandots.com is an image-based atlas of the world’s islands and reefs as viewed from low earth orbit. Presented in a gazetteer/image gallery format, each entry consists of at least one image and a small amount of background information on the island."


The owners of the site don’t identify themselves very well, but the sources include NASA data, so I expect it is a scientific collaboration project.
