Well that`s the end of 2007Well 2007 is over and forward we fin into 2008, well 2007 diving got off to a slow start, it wasn’t until the 1st of June what I got my first dive in, that was in Cyprus at a site the locals call Fish Stone, no surprise when at around 5m there sits a flat stone around eight feet in diameter where the dive schools take there customers on discover scuba dives.

This dive was followed by two more dives one at a site named Tunnels and Caves depth 15m and then a site named Chapel, so named due to the small white chapel that sits on the cliff above the site depth 20m.

Due to experiencing a faulty inflation hose on the BCD supplied by the dive shop I made the decision to purchase my own kit, so returning to the UK I set about the task of kiting myself out.

First was the BCD, I went for a Mares Morphos Pro with Airtrim and integrated weight system, what a difference I found, the comfort of not having to kit up with a weight belt and fingertip control of my buoyancy.

Before my next dive, which was not until October, I purchased the following, dive computer, new fins, new boots, regs, and a new 7mm wetsuit.

On the 5th of October we returned to Cyprus for two weeks, I decided to take an advanced open water certificate, I did this with Instructor and owner of Go Dive Cyprus Dennis Mead, a top guy which I highly recommend, on the 7th we did two dives on the wreck of the Zenobia, two amazing dives, this covered Boat and Wreck, I then did my deep, Navigation and Buoyancy, to complete my advance open water. This was followed by three recreational dives before returning home to the UK.

And my final bit of good luck in 2007 was to find this site (Dive Buddy), which I have to say, is a fantastic site with some very nice people from all corners of the world. Thanks for the site Greg.
