Scuba instructor training - Kansas and Costa Rica, Split between 2 worldsI suppose you could technically say 3 worlds as it is Kansas, Costa Rica and under the water if you really wanted to get technical! So it seems that I may destined to become a little bit more mobile over the upcoming year...Exciting! As the IDC here in Wichita is slowly drawing to a close, final presentations over the weekend, I am already planning ahead to my next course, which is back in the sunny, humidity that is Costa Rica. BUT, I will be returning here in April for another instructor development course and then again in July. So, if anyone is thinking about becoming a scuba instructor in the Kansas, Arkansas, or any surrounding area just drop me a line and I would love to have you onboard. It has been great fun teaching here and whilst I dearly miss my home turf, I think more than anything my lazy puppies lounging at my feet whilst I teach, could be a large factor, its very refreshing to come and teach in a different environment. I have met some wonderful people, some great staff and class has definitely been fun packed. I am extremely excited about the new group of instructors who will be heading out into the world to teach very soon and I know that they are just as excited to be sharing the wonders of the underwater world and pass the message to GO DIVING!
This coming week I will be doing a bit of role reversal and taking the disabled diver international course in Costa Rica, it’s always fun to be on the learning end for a change! We are looking ahead to making our dive store in Manuel Antonio, fully accessible and available to everybody that wants to learn to scuba either for fun, or as a means to recover, learn , whatever their needs may be. That is something that is also being looked at for the future here in Wichita too. Keep posted for future developments there. Next IDC is in November in Costa Rica, the start for the season also means that there will be plenty of classes to help out on and get experience at the end of it, so if you are leaning more towards tropical climes, then maybe a trip down there would work out?
Ok, #tgif rambling over...I am off to the pool to practice some skills!!!!!
