DIVING IN RHODESGREEK ISLAND OF RHODES
I visited Rhodes in September 2011. It was already a little bit off season, so I got Anna, the dive guide, all to myself on the first day. We dove at Kallithea on the first day. Kallithea is a beach that is a short distance from the city of Rhodes, where I stayed. http://www.rhodesguide.com/travelguide/rhodes_beach_guide.php?ssp=17We set off underwater straight from the beach. The dives were nice and shallow, easy dives. Weather was nice and sunny and the water was warm. These were my first proper cave dives, so that was exiting for me. The caves there, while not very deep, were beautiful and quite impressive. The second day, there was a bloke from Wales also diving with us. We did some interesting dives in Ladiko Bay. The underwater rock formations in Ladiko Bay are spectacular! Saw this strange “cloud of fog” on the bottom. I’ve no idea what it is, maybe spores or something? If anyone knows what it could be, please leave a comment, I’d love to hear. Rhodes town is known for its medieval centre, built by the knights of St John.
I dove with Rodos Diving Center. http://www.rodosdiving.com/Great service, had myself two days of great diving fun with them!
