I am a new-ish AOW diver..
Looking for dive buddies with experience who would like to do weekend or weekday after work dives occasionally. I would like to keep it relatively local (Calgary or immediate area like Minnie, Two Jack, Forget Me Not...). I would like to increase my bottom time, learn from my buddy’s experiences, and become a better diver.
My wife does not dive... or drive, but would definitely be willing to accompany as shore support / bird watcher. :)

Hi Garth. My name is Rick Fluet and I’ve had my OW and drysuit cert since September 2016 and obtained my Nitrox earlier this year (haven’t dove it yet). I am going for my AOW in June as well (Waterton). I consider myself to be a safe and conservative diver and I’ve been doing pool and splash sessions over the winter to practice my emergency skills - lots of fun. Doing a Diving Propulsion Vehicle (DPV, the underwater scooter things) on Monday at SAIT - that should be fun.

I live in Airdrie and will be doing a fair bit of local OW diving (hoping to anyways) via the Underwater Outlaws and Alberta Underwater Council dive events - you should check them out on FB; perhaps we can connect.

Rick, It’s good to meet you so quickly. I am doing the June 3rd & 4th AOW in Waterton with Dive Shop. I also want to be conservative and safe. I have been to a couple of splashes too and they sure give you a nice place to just work on skills. I have signed up for the MacKenzie cleanup in August and then the Arbour Lake in September. I would really like to connect and have someone to build bottom time with. If it’s okay, I can send you a message via facebook or whatever and give you my number. Looking forward to talking to you.

Hi Garth. Sure, look me up on FB and send me a message. I plan on hitting the Mahogany and Sundance lake cleanups June 3/4 as well as the Chaparral and Arbor cleanups.
